The Roaring 20s

Today I taught a lesson on the Roaring 20s- this is my first week of full time planning and teaching. The first class went decently- there was a ton of behavior and Siskow was observing me for behavior that day. The second class went a lot better with me giving breaks out like they were on sale. The presentation was a good idea but I think that the KKK stuff could have been left out or maybe handled as a discussion instead of a powerpoint. The kids made radio commercials for popular products of the day - 20 second jingles with lots of rhyming that focused on the popular aspects of the 1920s. I will not be here tomorrow and Siskow will use my lesson plan to teach the Roaring 20s. On Wednesday I am being observed and Gretchen will be here for my Harlem Renaissance Lesson.
