Today I taught both sections. We went over the themes of the 20th century and then the students took notes on the vocabulary words Kristen and I decided on- Progressive, Industrialism, and Era. We also did a timeline and discussed the term decade, century, and millenium. Then the students got into groups of four and illustrated what innovation, government, social life, and the arts were on a worksheet. This went very well and I enjoyed seeing the kids participate in the discussions using their prior knowledge.
